Spiritual Life
From many faiths and cultural backgrounds, our community is welcoming and inclusive in keeping with the Episcopal heritage. Weekly chapel provides an opportunity for all students and faculty to gather and reflect on issues of meaning and spirituality.
We require chapel attendance for all students and faculty. The School recognizes that not all members are Episcopalian or Christian, yet attendance is believed to support our common life, wellness, and mission. Therefore, chapel services seek to reflect the diversity of faith traditions in our community and are not a place to proselytize or recruit anyone to a different point of view. St. Timothy’s welcomes students of all faiths and draws strength from a diversity of beliefs and experiences.

The Erin Michele Levitas '11 Garden of Peace and Remembrance – Named for St. Timothy's alumna Erin Levitas '11, who passed away in 2016, the Garden is located on the west side of Carter House. This is a space for quiet reflection. A Peace Pole is in the garden to remind us that our growing young leaders will impact our global community, saying “May Peace Prevail on the Earth.”

The Class of 1965 Labyrinth – Installed in the Fall of 2015 and dedicated in May 2016, the Class of 1965 Labyrinth is a place for meditative walking. The labyrinth has for centuries been a format for a person to recall what grounds or centers her soul and being. It is a calm way to restore strengthen and clarity in our lives. The format is a journey taken over a short time that can connect us with witnesses from history long ago.
