Varsity Basketball Wins Against Maryvale

Stevenson, MD - St. Timothy's Varsity Basketball was able to jump out to an early lead and maintained it throughout the game. The team created an 18 point distance from Maryvale at the half, thanks to strong team defense, low turnovers, strong rebounding and great ball movement on offense. Statistically, for the entire game, St. Timothy's made 75% of their free throws, collected five steals and grabbed 25 rebounds. All eligible team members played in the game. Junior Sevval Istanbulluglu led the team with 17 points, five rebounds, and two steals. Freshman guard Brianna Rider followed with nine points and two steals, including some key buckets that helped St. Timothy's to maintain momentum in their favor. Senior captain and center Duru Tasman added eight points and eight rebounds, while Freshman forward Jasmine Johnson added nine points and four rebounds to the team's credit. Freshman point guard Jada Johnson along with the Senior captain and forward Mia Bryant added important contributions to the win with their hustle plays, deflections, and excellent defense.
